Craig A. Stevens, MD

Craig Stevens, MDDr. Stevens, owner of Triangle Family Care, earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (Cincinnati, Ohio) in 1989. After completing his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, he worked for several local traditional family practices and urgent care centers.

In early 1997, Dr. Stevens relocated to North Carolina, where he continued to practice medicine with various offices, including Rex Urgent Care of Cary. In October of 2001, Dr. Stevens opened the Triangle Family Care facility here at its present location.

Traveling and photography are two of Dr. Stevens' hobbies. He enjoys taking pictures of landscapes, architecture, and nature, and he mounts and frames his own pictures. In fact, many of the framed art pieces decorating the office are photos taken by Dr. Stevens. And while Dr. Stevens has a true appreciation for his art, he will be the first to tell you that he has an even greater appreciation for artwork, in general. He is a frequent visitor to local art shows and galleries and has personal collection that he has amassed over the years.

During his free time, when Dr. Stevens is not creating or appreciating artistic creations of others, he likes to travel, landscape, and grow and nurture his outdoor plant collection. As a lover of antiques and skiing also, whenever Dr. Stevens travels, he generally tries to find a slope to conquer and schedule a tour that includes antique or vintage shopping. According to Dr. Stevens, it's been a great shopping day if he locates a stained glass piece for a price that would be considered a steal!

When asked, What makes Triangle Family Care different from other family practices, Dr. Stevens explains that the 'Family' in Triangle Family Care is what makes the difference. Dr. Stevens says that even if two patients are diagnosed with the same condition, each patient may experience different symptoms and have different reactions to the same medications. Just as no two patients are alike, no treatment plan is a blanket treatment plan. At Triangle Family Care, patients never become just a number or just a statistic - each patient is an individual with distinct needs that we make it a habit to cater to. This is the 'Family' difference.

Dr. Stevens has two rescue Shelties, Bandit and Chance, who he considers part of the family. His philosophies of life help him with his Shelties and his practice - "Listen well and always have a decent sense of humor". His ability to listen and to laugh provides him with the right attitude for raising Shelties, taking care of patients, and according to the Triangle Family Care staff, to work with as well.
